Essential Oils FAQ’s & Select Favorites

Why do you use/promote dōTERRA?

dōTERRA oils are safe and effective because of their standards for purity and quality that go way beyond the oil industry standards. Each oil is tested 54 different ways through the growing, harvesting, distilling, and bottling processes to make sure there is no adulteration or contamination whatsoever. This goes far beyond industry standard tests. Batch test data is available on SourceToYou.com. dōTERRA also partners with respected research and humanitarian institutions.

Do essential oils have an expiration date?

Yes, dōTERRA oils are generally good for 5 years after they are bottled. Lot numbers and expiration dates are printed on the bottom of every bottle. It is best to keep them away from direct light exposure (especially citrus oils).

Why do some oil brands cost more than others?

To get a truly pure, quality oil that includes the highest potency and versatility from the whole plant’s chemistry it requires the plant to grow in the best environment in its native region. It also requires a lot of testing and fair trade practices to make sure the oils are not contaminated or adulterated in any way and the growers are not exploited or cheated. Many cheaper branded oils are brokered and mixed with counterfeit oils or chemicals along the way.
